May 28, 2021 – Little Rock, AR – The Poultry Federation (TPF) presented Mike Pruitt, Senior Vice President of Support Services and Pedigree Production at Cobb-Vantress, Inc with the 2021 Industry Leader of the Year Award
at the 61st Annual Poultry Festival held May 28-29 in Rogers, Arkansas.
Mike has been involved in the poultry industry for over 35 years. He has worked for multiple poultry companies throughout his career. He is a graduate of Missouri State University and began his career with Tyson Foods in the Dardanelle Complex here in Arkansas. He has worked for OK Foods, Con Agra, Pilgrims, Foster Farms and Cobb.
Mike has been instrumental in the finances of the federation and provided great advice during 2020 as we navigated the pandemic. He is described as firm but fair by his colleagues. Mike began his service on The Poultry Federation Board of Directors in 2015 and has served in every office. He was Chairman of the Board and Festival Chairman in 2018 and continues to serve as an Ex-Officio member today.
Mike is married to Tonya and they reside in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
The Industry Leader of the Year Award is presented by The Poultry Federation to recognize the outstanding achievements of poultry and egg business executives as well as their contributions to the industry. The award has been presented to 65 individuals since 1955. The Poultry Federation is a trade association representing the poultry and egg industry in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas. The federation promotes and protects the interests of the industry and provides a unified voice for governmental affairs. The Poultry Federation is based in Little Rock, Ar., and has operational offices in Jefferson City, Mo., and Oklahoma City, Ok.
